Who publishes this site

Petroleum Levies is published by Onward Africa, a communications firm based in Nairobi. Our work includes clients in the payments and revenue-collection sector.

Where the figures come from

Every rate, amount and date comes from a source we opened and link on the page. We use the law, decree or resolution first, then official government and regulator pages, then Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) reports and company payment disclosures, then audit and court records, then established news outlets. We do not use blogs, forums or social media as sources.

Each page shows the date we last checked it. When two reliable sources disagree, we show both with their dates instead of choosing one. When we cannot confirm a figure, we leave it out and say so.

Corrections

Found a mistake? Email hello@petroleumlevies.org with a link to the source and we will check it. Corrections are logged on the page with the date.
